The assignment that was put forward was to do an interview between 120-180 seconds with a person of our choice while setting up the proper set for the interview.
Some of the initial ideas that came forward for me was to get Skyler Brindamour as our interviewer as he has a very interesting story with his father being a former Stanley cup winner and current coach of the Carolina Hurricanes. As well Skyler brought a very interesting story knowing he is going through his first year of college hockey and school and getting an understanding of that would be very interesting to discover.
From our initial ideas it was really between interviewing Charlotte roommate and Skyler and what we made our decision off of was what would make a more interesting interview and we decided that Skyler story had the possibility of making a great interview.
The project timeline was honestly something that went by pretty smoothly. After deciding on who we were going to interview which only took a few minutes we decided that Sunday would be the best day to film as both of us had no classes and I had no hockey on that day. After that I was able to arrange a time that worked with Skyler and we would all meet at 12pm at the communication building. We were able to get set up in around 45 minutes as we had a little bit of trouble with the lights but were able to figure it out. After that we filmed a couple of times and then would edit our work at the next class. Once done editing we were finished making our interview and were super excited to share it the next class.
We did have to rely on Skyler as without him we wouldn’t have been able to do the interview, so we were super grateful for his help.

A few challenges that arose throughout this process was getting the lights set up as we struggled to get it the lights on the stand. Secondly, we had a few issues with making are video under 2 minutes while still having three different shots from each perspective but in the end were able to figure it out.
I personally feel like are interview questions were very thought out and well put together as we got a lot of interesting information out of Skyler which really helped make it easier putting together our clips. As well I thought we did an excellent job with the lighting in the room as it was very clear and focused on Skyler which I feel like really helped make our interview awesome.
One unforeseen circumstance that came up on us was that some of the plug ins did not work so we had to adapt and rearrange are setup to a position that would have enough plug ins for us to use.
The one thing I wish we done differently was to possibly have more action in our background as I thought re background was solid but wasn’t excellent so that would be the one thing I wish we would of done differently.
